Inspiration from Galileo, Kepler, and DaVinci

Its pretty clear why they call the time period with these guys the Renaissance!  What amazing ideas, and discoveries were being made.  It’s great subject matter to explore with James and it gives all of us food for thought.  Here are some of the things he said on his letter board today.

In discussing Galilei Galileo the question was what are some of his achievements and what lessons do  you learn from studying him?

HE HAD MANY PUBLICATIONS, SUPPORTED THE HELIOCENTRIC THEORY, HAD A NEW THEORY ABOUT GRAVITY AND WATER DISPLACEMENT AND STOOD UP FOR SCIENCE. Lessons learned:  KEEP THINKING AND STUDYING THE WORLD AROUND YOU.

Johannes Kepler: He had THREE LAWS EXPLAINING VISION AND THE TELESCOPE AND HOW TO CORRECT VISION. Lessons learned: ALWAYS FIND A WAY.

“Iron rusts from disuse, stagnant water loses its purity and in cold weather becomes frozen; even so does inaction sap the vigor of the mind.”
– Leonardo da Vinci

WITHOUT PRACTICE THE MIND FORGETS HOW TO LEARN. WE NEED TO KEEP MOVING, THINKING, AND LEARNING. TO ADD TO YOUTH  AND PUSH AWAY AND AVOID ALZHEIMERS WE MUST WORK OUR BRAIN.
